Here we go again, it seems every time I make a blog about the Humble indie bundles I want to say ” This is the best one to date”, although they do seem to be getting better every single time!

I’ve only tried 2 of the games up to now. However one of them I play the HELL out of, being Amnesia, I make Let’s play videos, if you’re interested in seeing one then check out my montage on it;

Also Limbo is a game i’ve played in the past and even my girlfriend loved it to the point where she completed it! The other games look really intresting, I got all of them since I paid the average price so will give them a shot at one point!

And correct me if I’m wrong but I think this bundle has already earned more then all the other humble indie bundles and it still has 9 days left, Amazing! I feel I don’t need to tell you the next stats since its obvious but Linux AS USUAL is paying the highest average (A massive $12.24) with Mac 2nd($9.46) and Windows last($7.25) paying lower then the actual average price.

Pay whatever you want for 4 awesome games or beat the average to unlock Bastion!

What you see here, is Steam running in Linux. Going into more detail its running through Playonlinux..which uses wine, man such a pain getting this stuff running through Linux non natively. But whats this news which I’m coming across the past few days…?

Apparently this wont be the case soon! All you Linuxers will be as excited as me to know, that Steam is COMING TO LINUX! About a year ago I was overjoyed about hearing Linux getting Steam, but then it came to mac and it turned out Phronix APPARENTLY  used this as a way to get more clicks to his site, I’m not voicing what I think since I do like his work.

But this time, there is just something about it, seeing screenshots and actually hearing so much news on different websites about it! They’ve said that Left 4 dead 2 is the first game being ported onto Linux.

Take a look at http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=valve_linux_dampfnudeln&num=1 to see what was to be said with screenshots. As for this whole situation I’m as excited as ever, and hope this transition is made soon, and I’m playing all my source games soon in Linux without help from wine!

Maybe this will be the much needed boost for Linux & games!

Also make sure you check the founder of the Founder of phoronix websites twitter out, he seems to be posting a lot about Linux and Steam lately!

Happy gaming Linuxers!

As per, Linux showing its genorisity with the Humble Botanicula Bundle although getting the main game running is a pain in the arse in Linux!

http://amanita-design.net/forum/index.php/topic,3729.0.html

Here is a guide for you guys if you want to try and get it running.

I have nothing much against the bundle, its actually really good, and I still paid above average to get everything, but yeah…

Its not exactly the best bundle considering that two of the games I ALREADY HAVE, and one of the items is actually a movie which is badly dubbed in English, I flicked through it but its not really of my intrest sadly. Also I struggled getting the sound working in windosill but still managed to upload a video of it ;

ALTHOUGH we Linux users have all these problems, what do we do?

Well out of 80,417 purchases (and rising) us Linuxers have got the average as per usual way higher then Windows and Mac. I would say something along the lines of ‘this shows big company’s that Linux users will willingly pay money for games brought to Linux’ but of course Valve apparently already know this! ;)

This bundle still has four days left on it so get your hands on it and show some support for Linux gaming!

Stay tuned for more Linux gaming news!

As you may be able to tell, I got a PSvita.

HOWEVER, I did not pay for this, My luck seemed to take a turn for a day! (For once)

Yep, I won a competition. Unbelievable!  The console arrived this morning, sadly after I left for college, still got a phone call though which left me excited for the whole day!

So basically thank you playstation access, SO very much! I was so happy to get this after wanting it so bad already!

So yeh please go check out my video on the PSvita, which actually gives my first impressions about the console!

As you may already know a new humble indie bundle is out, yay!

If you purchased previous bundles you may already  own Osmos and world of goo (sort of cancels out the “pay more than average and get world of goo”) but if you have an android it may be worth paying the average so you can get this on your smartphone!

As usual Linux users have the best average with $8.23, Mac are second best with $6.90 and as always Windows users have the least average with $5.47.

To beat the average price and get world of goo you will have to pay $6.06 or more.

OBVIOUSLY its my opinion, mainly because it has Super meat boy in it, I kept tweeting  @SuperMeatBoy telling them to release it for Linux, and thankfully the humble indie bundle(and obviously myself) helped it along onto Linux!

BUT COME ON just under 2 days left to get bit trip runner, Super meat boy, Shank, Nightsky HD AND if you pay above the average ($5.34) then get Gratuitous space battles and Cave story+ with that bunch of games!

The amazing thing is, as always, Linux has the highest average which is $10.39, which is amazing! Windows with less the half at $4.76 and Mac slightly higher with $7.55, expect these to change slightly. You can also get giftable codes which will be awesome for a somewhat late Christmas present. ALSO you can get a Steam key and add all of these into you Steam list!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

I had little expectations of this actually working in Linux, being a new/amazing game and all…but you know “expect the un-expected”

This was the second ever game I’ve pre-ordered, after Battlefield 3 and they were both worth it! I bought the CD version which then installs through Steam, so I first installed it on Windows, so I could actually have a go on it first, then later on copied it from my Windows partition to my Linux one. At first it wasn’t working, not sure why. But then I saw a couple of videos on YouTube the next day and was like whuuuuuut! So tried it again and it mysteriously worked. Weird. But yeah, I did nothing for it to work, didn’t install anything else, no cracks or whatever, just worked legitimately through Steam!

The game is definitely worth every penny. The world of Skyrim looks absolutely amazing! Not only that, the fights you get into near the start are really intense and within the first hour you are fighting a dragon! (thankfully not on your own) If you want an amazing game that also works in Linux get this…There were no problems whilst running it either, didn’t experience any crashes or slowing mouse and what not.

Here we go again, seemed only a few posts ago the previous bundle was released! First release on the 31st October, it only had one game, obviously Voxatron. But a day later and two more games have already been put on! Them being Blocks that matter, and The binding of Isaac. Both these games being redeemable on Steam. If you bought the bundle on the first day then the games are automatically put into the key link, where as if you want to buy it now you will have to pay above the average purchases to receive all games!

Ubuntu 11.10 was released the other day, so I decided to take the plunge! Quite a big one since I was previously using 10.10, since I wasn’t too keen on 11.04. When I tried 11.04 I didn’t like it that much, there was a lot of little things that annoyed me, I didn’t like Unity that much. So I’ve decided to give it a second chance..

Truth be told I actually really like it. There’s just something about it now which I seem to like, maybe in the future I’ll end up back at classic gnome but for now I’m sticking with Unity. They have made quite a few changes, they changed a few of the icons which I wasn’t too keen on so instantly got my Faenza icon theme back, which leads to explaining something that has irritated me first. One thing about the previous Ubuntu versions was being able to customise the theme so much, so if a pre-set theme didn’t take to your liking you could most likely change the thing which irritated you.

As shown by this image these are the only settings you have to change the theme settings. This really annoyed me since I had to download a different app to actually change my icon set. To find out yourself how to do this go to my friends blog post. I also like how they have changed that the Ubuntu icon is not in the top left corner, for some reason I didn’t like how it looked and they have now implemented it into the Unity dock. The Unity dock’s default size I think seemed rather big, so I had to download yet another app to change that, which annoys me since if people don’t know what they are doing then….what the hell are they going to do! To find a detailed way on changing the unity dock size the check Ubuntu geek’s blog post. For me it never had an instant effect so I thought it never worked, so when it came to turning my computer on and off I found out that it did(thankfully).

Also one of the features I missed when I was using 10.10 was one they copied off Windows! Being able to drag your applications to either side of the screen to make it fill half the screen or drag it to the top to make it full screen. I’ve actually always liked this feature since I used to find myself trying to half my applications in size manually which was…truth be told a pain in the arse. They did actually implement it into 11.04 but there was graphical errors and it just looked horrid and were so obvious. Thankfully they have sorted it out now and they’ve made it work with Ubuntu brilliantly…

Another new addition which actually made me want 11.10 even more(not joking) was the login screen. Wow, it looks so awesome! I don’t really need to explain in words, just look at it;

There isn’t much more I want to say, the backgrounds are okay, I must say I preferred 11.04′s default backgrounds but that’s not a big issue. It runs really good, I’ve run into no speed issues and basically had no problems. Default applications for Music and browsing the web wasn’t to my taste, I swapped banshee music player for Rhythmbox and Firefox for Google Chrome, although I have nothing against Firefox.

I know I could’ve included more but I’m not one to go into too much detail! Hope you liked my post anyways!
